Indigenous Food Systems

Indigenous Cultures around Turtle Island were centered more around food and trade then money and power. The anthropoligist Jack Weatherford documents some of the food technology in Indian Givers. The systems developed by Indigenous people were complex and showed a deep understanding of agriculture. The most vivid example of the type of agriculture is shown in the Three Sisters. This type of agriculture is known as companion planting.
